Day 1 - DEPART - We depart Reno to connect with our overnight flight to Munich. We enjoy in-flight movies, dinner and breakfast aloft. Day 2- MUNICH ???This morning we arrive in Munich.  We are met by our Tour Manager and motor coach. We enjoy a sightseeing city tour with Mass in Munich. We see the Glockenspiel at Marienplatz, the Michaelskirche and see the Residence Palace. The remainder of the day we are free to explore on our own before dinner and overnight at our hotel. Day 3 ???MUNICH - This morning our tour takes us to the University, St. Paul's Church, (where we will celebrate Mass), and passes the German Museum, the 'Frauenkirche,' the Obelisk, Theatiner Church, Feldherrnhalle, English Gardens, Schwabing Artists Colony, Buergerbrau Kellar, and concludes with a visit to Nymphenburg Palace.  This afternoon, for those who wish, we will take a tour at the somber Dachau, one of the infamous concentration camps of World War II.  Others may remain in Munich for personal adventure, to shop or just relax.  Dinner and overnight at the hotel Day 4- MUNICH/ALT??TTING/SALZBURG ???After breakfast we travel to the delightful little village of Altötting once the favorite of dukes and princes, nestled in the spectacular Bavarian countryside. We visit the Bavarian Pilgrimage Center, home to Our Lady of Altötting, the national shrine of Bavaria. It stands with Lourdes, Fatima and Einsiendein as one of the famous Marian Shrines.  We celebrate Mass here before continuing to our hotel in Salzburg for dinner and overnight. Day 5 - SALZBURG - Salzburg is said to be the geographical center of Europe.  The town, lying on both sides of the Salzach River and encircled by the awesome Alps, is a delight to its visitors.  Following Mass in the Dom (cathedral) our sightseeing includes a visit to Hohensalzburg Fortress Castle. We see old town with its ancient, gingerbread ornamented houses, ???the narrow street,??? the Residenz, whose melodic glockenspiel carillon chime three times daily as in the days of the prince-archbishop.  We see the Festival Hall and charming St. Peter's churchyard. In the "City of Mozart," we also visit the birthplace of the great composer.  This afternoon, heavenly sights enthrall us again as we motor through one of Europe's most eye-appealing areas, the Salzkammergut, photogenic backdrop for the film "Sound of Music." We see storybook, old world villages; mountains rising from crystal clear lakes; fire forests merging with green slopes and meadows dotted with wild flowers. Dinner and overnight at our hotel. Day 6 ??? SALZBURG/INNSBRUCK ??? This morning we travel through the Tyrol to Innsbruck.  We begin our city tour in Tyrol's Olympic City, where we view the "Golden Roof" and Hofburg Palace.  Then we will visit the famous Olympic village and enjoy the beauty of this lovely city tucked deep within the Alps. We celebrate Mass at a local parish church before checking in at our hotel for dinner and overnight. Day 7 ??? INNSBRUCK/OBERAMMERGAU/INNSBRUCK??? This morning, we drive to Oberammergau and tour this great village including a tour of the Passion Play Theater and museum.  Afterwards, we visit the famous Linderhof Castle which was built by mad King Ludwig and stop at the Monastery in Ettal, where we celebrate Mass before returnung to Innsburke for dinner and overnight. Day 8 ???INNSBRUCK/ST. GALLEN/LUCERNE ???  This morning we drive south into Switzerland and the town of St. Gallen where we visit the Abbey of St. Gall. The Carolingian-era monastery has existed since 719.  It was founded by Saint Otmar on the spot where Saint Gall erected his hermitage.  The library at the Abbey is one of the richest medeival libraries in the world.  Around 1800 the former Abbey church became a Cathedral in 1848.  Since 1983 the whole remaining abbey precinct has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  We celebrate Mass here.  We continue through a picture book Swiss Alpine setting, arriving at the lovely lakeside town of  Lucerne. We see the Chapel Bridge, the Lion Monument, Hofkirche, the Musegg Towers and Weinmarket Fountain and continue to our hotel for dinner and overnight. Day 9 ??? LUCERNE/ENGELBERG/LUCERNE ??? This morning we drive to nearby Engelberg Abbey, a delightful Benedictine Abbey founded in 1120 whose monks have placed much emphasis on preserving the liturgy. Intellectual and artistic foci continue to form the core of the convent???s activities and interests.  If possible, we will celebrate Mass here. Following lunch and personal time, we make our way back to Lucerne for dinner and overnight at our hotel. Day 10 ??? LUCERNE/EINSIEDELN/ZURICH ??? Following breakfast, we travel to the Shrine of Our Lady in Einsiedeln. This beautiful shrine incorporates the relics of a saint, a miraculous Black Madonna statue, and a Benedictine monastery.  We celebrate Mass here. The village of Einsiedeln is also home to the world???s largest nativity scene, the Diorama Bethelehem. Every 5 years or so, the city puts together an outside production of ???The Great World Theater??? by Don Padro Calderon in front of the monastery.  Later we travel to Zurich for dinner and overnight at our hotel. Day 11 ???ZURICH/USA ??? This morning, we transfer to the airport and continue our journey home to the States today remembering the good times we had and happy for the new friends we made.
