Tuesday, October 10 - Day 1 ??? DEPART USA ??? Today we depart Newark or JFK on our overnight flight to Lisbon. Wednesday, October 11 - DAY 2 - LISBON/ SANTAREM/ FATIMA/ LEIRIA - We arrive in Lisbon Airport, where we are met and given an orientation tour of Lisbon.   We visit St. Anthony Church, located on the very site where St. Anthony was allegedly born. We proceed to St. Stephen, the Church of the Eucharistic Miracle in Santarem.  We celebrate Mass here.  We to continue to Leiria and transfer to our hotel.  After an early dinner (at a restaurant or hotel), we join pilgrims from around the world for the Rosary and candlelight procession at the Shrine of Fatima.  Thursday, October 12 - DAY 3 - LEIRIA/ FATIMA/LEIRIA - This full day is devoted to visiting the Basilica and Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima and nearby hamlets of Aljustrel and Valinhos.  We visit the birthplaces of Francisco, Jacinta and Lucia to whom the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared 6 times, from May 13 to October 13, 1917.  We join the English concelebrated Mass at the Chapel of Apparitions, where most of the apparitions took place.  Later this afternoon, we return to our hotel.  After an early dinner, we once again join the International Rosary Procession.  Return to our hotel for overnight. Friday, October 13 - Day 4 ??? LEIRIA/ FATIMA/LEIRIA - Full day on our own in Fatima to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Our Lady???s apparitions. Later this afternoon, we return to our hotel.  After an early dinner, we once again join the International Rosary Procession.  Return to our hotel for overnight. Saturday, October 14 - Day 5 - LEIRIA/BRAGA/SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA -  We drive north this morning and celebrate Mass at the magnificent church and sanctuary of Bom Jesus do Monte, outside of Braga, the city known as the Portuguese Rome.   Penitent pilgrims would make the zig-zagging climb up the 577 steps to the Bom Jesus on their knees.  The Sanctuary may be reached by funicular or car.  We continue to Santiago de Compostela, site of one of the most famous shrines and destination of an ancient pilgrimage route of St. James. (Camino De Santiago). We visit the Basilica and explore the Old Town, then transfer to our hotel for dinner and overnight. Sunday, October 15 - Teresa of Avila - Day 6 ??? SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA/SAN TORIBIO/SANTANDER - This morning, we celebrate Mass at the Cathedral.  We depart Santiago de Compostela and journey to the eighth-century monastery of Santo Toribio de Lieubana, where the largest relic of the True Cross with the nail hole, the Lignum Crucis, is venerated.  Afterwards, we drive to our hotel in Santandar for dinner and overnight.  Monday, October 16 - Day 7 -SANTANDER/ AZPEITIA/LOURDES - We travel to the Sanctuary of St Ignatius of Loyola in Azpeitia where we celebrate Mass. We visit St. Ignatius??? home, the heart of the shrine, where we trace the important events in St. Ignatius life, including his conversion. We continue northwards in the Basque region of Spain and enjoy lunch on our own in San Sebastian, before we cross the border into France. In late afternoon, we arrive in Lourdes for dinner before joining the Torchlight Pilgrim???s Procession. Overnight at our hotel.
