Thursday, October 6 - Day 1 ??? DEPART USA ??? Today we depart Denver to connect with our overnight flight aboard a wide-bodied jet. We enjoy in-flight movies, dinner and breakfast aloft. Friday, October 7 - Lady of Rosary - DAY 2 - MADRID ??? Today, we arrive in Madrid where we are met.  This afternoon we will pass by all the highlights of Madrid, capital of Spain, including the Gran Via Plaza de España, the Viaduct, Plaza Major, Independence and Cibeles Squares, the University, and the Paseo de la Castellana. We will visit Almudena Cathedral, whose history dates back to the Moors and the legend of El Cid and Madrid conquest; the San Francisco Basilica, the largest one in Spain; and San Isidro Basilica, where the famous well is located under the altar.  Later we make our way to our hotel for dinner and overnight Saturday, October 8 - Day 3 - AVILA - This morning, we visit the charming village of Avila, the birthplace of St. Teresa of Jesus, (1515-1582), one of the Church's greatest and most influential mystics. Here we will celebrate Mass at the Cathedral and visit the Convent of the Incarnation, where St. Teresa lived for three decades and St. John of the Cross, her spiritual director and confessor lived for the last two years of her life. This afternoon we return to Madrid for dinner and overnight at our hotel. Sunday, October 9 - Day 4 - SEGOVIA - Day trip to Segovia. Pray before the relics of Saint John of the Cross. We will celebrate Mass at the Cathedral and visit the Church of Santa Cruz, the Aquaduct and conquest of the Alcazar. Return to Madrid for dinner and overnight. Monday, October 10 - Columbus Day - DAY 5 ??? MADRID/SALAMANCA ??? This morning following Mass at a local parish church near to the hotel, we will be free for personal adventure.  This afternoon, we drive to Salamanca for dinner and overnight at our hotel. Tuesday, October 11 - DAY 6 ???SALAMANCA/ FATIMA ??? This morning we tour Salamanca and then depart for nearby Alba de Tormes.  St. Theresa of Avila died here in the village a little over 50 miles from Avila.  Her body is in a reliquary in the main altar of the Carmelite Convent Church here where we will celebrate Mass.  Afterwards, we continue into Portugal and Fatima for the feast day activities.  Dinner and overnight at our hotel  Wednesday, October 12 and Thursday, October 13 - DAYS 7 & 8 ??? FATIMA ??? These two days will be devoted to the events surrounding the celebrations associated with the Feast activities around the Apparitions of Our Lady. Dinner and overnight at our hotel each day. Friday, October 14 - DAY 9 ??? ALCOBACA/ NAZAR??/BATALHA This day we will make a tour around Fatima???s surroundings. We first make our way to Alcobaça visit the imposing monastery church (UNESCO world heritage), the first Gothic church to be built in Portugal and home to the tombs of the ill-starred lovers D. Pedro and D. Inês de Castro. We then head onto the picturesque and colorful fishing town of Nazaré (free time for lunch). There???s also the chance to find out something about the legends and traditions of this town. We then move onto Batalha to visit the monastery church (also UNESCO world heritage), a Gothic masterpiece with the most finely worked stained-glass windows. We celebrate Mass here. Return to Fatima for dinner and overnight at our hotel Saturday, October 15 - Teresa of Avila - Day 10 - USA - Today we transfer to the Lisbon airport for our return flight home.
