Jacobs on a trip to find his native american grandfather Tawupu who left new york and heads to the hopi lands. On the trip the main charicter learns of the re-introduction of the lobo a mexican gray wolf into the land around the hopi reserve. The lobo is thought to be killing live stock and farmers are thretaning to kill the lobo. Jacob takes it into his hands to help the lobo.
