Spread of Tea= White Arrows
The first cup of tea was brewed in between
2737-2697 BCE during the Emporer Shen Nung's
reign, according to Chinese legend.
Buddhists in India helped spread the use of
tea throughout China and India during the
sixth century BCE.
Tea spread throughout China during 618-907 CE. Meanwhile, China was
becoming the wealthiest empire in the world. Trade thrived, Chinese art
flourished, and the population multiplied.
Japan began drinking tea at the beginning of the
sixth century. They expanded the tea ceremony and
its popularity spread.
The first tea brought to Europe was in
1610 by a Dutch ship. Tea then spread to France
from The Netherlands in the 1630s and England
during The 1650s.
When the British East India Company
placed the Tea Act of 1773, the colonists
felt that the British Government wasn't taking their
needs into consideration. This led the Boston Tea Party
and eventually, the American Revolution.
