Saturday, July 4 - Day 1 ??? DEPART USA - Today we depart LAX on our overnight flight to Lisbon. We enjoy in-flight movies, dinner and breakfast aloft. Sunday, July 5 - DAY 2 - LISBON/SANTAREM/FATIMA - We arrive in Lisbon Airport, where we are met and given a short orientation tour of Lisbon.   We proceed to the Church of the famous Eucharistic Miracle at Santarem where we celebrate Mass.  We continue to Fatima for dinner and overnight.  In the evening, we join the International Rosary Procession.  Overnight at our hotel. Monday, July 6 - DAY 3 - FATIMA - This full day is devoted to visiting the Basilica and Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima and nearby hamlets of Aljustrel and Valinhos.  We visit the birthplaces of Francisco, Jacinta and Lucia to whom the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared 6 times, from May 13 to October 13, 1917.  We celebrate Mass at one of the Chapels or the Chapel of Apparitions, where most of the apparitions took place.  In the evening, we once again join the International Rosary Procession.  Dinner and overnight at our hotel. Tuesday, July 7 - DAY 4 - FATIMA/SALAMANCA/AVILA - This morning, we celebrate Mass at one of the Chapels or the Chapel of Apparitions.  Afterward, in celebration of the Jubilee Year of 500th anniversary of the birth of St Teresa Avila, we pray for the rebirth and reinvigoration of her spirit among us and visit several sites of importance in the life this remarkable saint and Doctor of the Church in Salamanca and Avila.  In Salamanca, at the Convent of San Esteban, we see the confessional box she used.  We enjoy a brief panoramic coach tour of the city: the Old & New Cathedral, Pontificia University and the University of Salamanca where St John of the Cross studied.  We continue to Avila and pass by the Four Posts (Los Cuatro Postes), a roadside shrine just outside Avila's walls marking the spot where, at age seven, St. Teresa???s uncle stopped her and her brother from running away to become martyrs in battle with the Moors.  Dinner and overnight at our hotel. Wednesday, July 8 - Day 5 - AVILA/ZARAGOZA - Today, we visit the Church and Convent built on the house where she was born,  the  Church of San Juan Bautista where she was baptized, the twelfth century cathedral containing many of her relics, and the Monastery of San José, the first convent of the Discalced Carmelite Reform that she founded in 1562.  We celebrate Mass at the Monastery of La Encarnacion, where St Teresa entered in 1535 at age 20, began to reform the Carmelite order and had some of her mystical experiences.  We continue to Zaragoza for dinner and overnight. Thursday, July 9 - Day 6 - ZARAGOZA/ LOURDES - This morning, we celebrate Mass at the Basilica of Nuestra Senora del Pilar, the number one Marian site in Spain.  According to tradition, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to the disheartened St James in 40 AD to comfort him and assure him that his evangelization efforts in Spain will not be in vain.  This is the first recorded Marian Apparition in history and the only one which took place during the earthly life of the Blessed Mother. We journey to Lourdes and traverse the Pyrenees northward entering southern France. We arrive in Lourdes for dinner and overnight.  Tonight, following dinner, we have the option of participate in the Torch light Procession. Friday, July 10 - . Day 7 - LOURDES - This morning, we begin with Mass at the Grotto. For those who wish, we proceed to the legendary healing waters of the miraculous Lourdes spring.  Afterward, we take an orientation tour of the Shrine of Lourdes. Our walking tour will take us to Boly Mill, the birthplace of St. Bernadette, the Cachot, the former jail, where she lived during the apparitions and the local parish church. The rest of the day is free for personal devotions to Our Lady of Lourdes.   Again, tonight, following dinner, we have the option of participating in the Torch light Procession Saturday, July 11 - St. Benedict - Day 8 ??? LOURDES/TOULOUSE /AVIGNON - Today we drive to Toulouse, and visit the Basilica of St Sernin, a Romanesque church with 128 relics, including the sacred remains of, St. Thomas Aquinas, St Bartholomew and St Barnabas. We celebrate Mass here.  We continue to Avignon and visit its famous sites, including the Palace of the Popes, the world???s largest Gothic palace and a Unesco Heritage site.  Avignon served as the papal seat of power between 1309 and 1377.  Dinner and overnight at our hotel.   Sunday, July 12 - Day 9 ??? AVIGNON/MONACO/GENOA - This morning, we celebrate Mass at Notre Dame de Doms Cathedral in Avignon where the votive Mass of the canonization of St Thomas Aquinas was celebrated by Pope John XXII on July 18, 1323.  If time permits we will stop briefly in Antibes or Nice during lunchtime.  We proceed to Monaco and visit its famous sites, including the Cathedral of Monaco, where Prince and Princess Grace Kelly got married,  Palais du Prince, Formula One Grand Prix track and the Monte Carlo Casino. We continue to Genoa for dinner and overnight. Monday, July 13 - Day 10 ??? GENOA/PISA/ROME - Today, we celebrate Mass at the Pisa Cathedral, near the Leaning Tower of Pisa, one of the most famous towers in the world.  We then make a short visit to the Designer Outlet Mall before leaving.  We continue to Rome and enjoy a panoramic coach tour of the Eternal City, including the Forum, Colosseum, Circus Maximus and its stunning City Hall.  We transfer to our hotel for dinner and overnight. Tuesday, July 14 - Day 11 - ROME/VATICAN - This morning, we go to the Vatican, where we celebrate Mass below St. Peters. Afterward, we see the treasures of the Vatican Museum. We marvel at Michelangelo???s restored frescoes in the Sistine Chapel and the wonders of St. Peter???s. We climb the top of the dome for a panoramic view of Rome.  This afternoon, we visit the Basilica of St. Mary Major, then the Church of St Alphonsus Liguori, the Shrine of Mother of Perpetual Help in Rome. Dinner on our own.  Overnight at our hotel. Wednesday, July 15 - Day 12 ??? ROME/VATICAN - After an early breakfast, we make our way to St. Peter's for an audience with Pope Francis if he is in residence. This afternoon, we visit the Holy Stairs and Basilica of St. John Lateran. We stop by the Basilica of Santa Maria in Ara Coeli famous for the miraculous Infant Jesus (Gesu Bambino). We conclude our day at St. Paul Outside the Walls. The huge, imposing Basilica, second only to St. Peter???s, is one of the largest churches in the Christian world. We celebrate Mass here and proceed to a nearby restaurant for our Farewell Dinner with entertainment before returning to our hotel to overnight.  Thursday, July 16 - DAY 13 - ROME/USA - We transfer to the airport this morning for our return flight home with unforgettable memories to cherish always.
