Monday, September 4 - Labor Day - Day 1 ???DEPART USA ??? Today we depart Newark on our overnight flight to Lisbon. Tuesday, September 5 - DAY 2 - LISBON/ SANTAREM/FATIMA - We arrive in Lisbon Airport, where we are met and given a short orientation tour of Lisbon.   We visit St. Anthony Church, located on the very site where St. Anthony was allegedly born. We proceed to St. Stephen, the Church of the Eucharistic Miracle in Santarem.  We celebrate our Welcome Mass here.  We to continue to Fatima for dinner and overnight.  In the evening, we join pilgrims from around the world for the Rosary and candlelight procession at the Shrine of Fatima. Wednesday, September 6 - DAY 3 - FATIMA -This full day is devoted to visiting the Basilica and Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima and nearby hamlets of Aljustrel and Valinhos.  We visit the birthplaces of Francisco, Jacinta and Lucia to whom the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared 6 times, from May 13 to October 13, 1917.  We join the English concelebrated Mass at the Chapel of Apparitions, where most of the apparitions took place.  In the evening, we once again join the International Rosary Procession.  Dinner and overnight at our hotel. Thursday, September 7 - Day 4 - FATIMA/ SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA - Following Mass at one of the Chapels or the Chapel of Apparitions, we journey northwards into Spain, near or parallel to the Camino de Santiago Portuguese Coastal Way. Santiago de Compostela, the destination of the ancient pilgrimage to the Shrine of St. James, is one of the most famous shrines in the western world. Time permitting, we explore the Old Town and the Plaza de Obradoiro area. Tonight, we enjoy dinner at a Galician restaurant.  Overnight at our hotel. Friday, September 8 - Birth of Mary - DAY 5 ??? SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA /PONFERRADA/ SANTO DOMINGO DE SILOS/BURGOS- This morning, celebrate Mass at the impressive Cathedral. Beneath the high altar, at the crypt, we venerate St. James relics.  We depart Santiago de Compostela and travel westward into Spain on to Ponferrada, one of the cities in the Camino de Santiago route.  After lunch on our own, we briefly tour the Templars Castle, entrusted to the Knights of Templars in the 12th century, to protect pilgrims as they made their way to Santiago de Compostela.  Transfer to our hotel in Burgos for dinner and overnight. Saturday, September 9 - Day 6 - BURGOS/ AZPEITIA/LOURDES - Today, we celebrate Mass at the magnificent Burgos Cathedral, one of the largest in Spain.  We drive to the Sanctuary of St Ignatius of Loyola in Azpeitia where we visit the Basilica and his home.  We continue northwards and enjoy lunch on our own in San Sebastian before we cross the border into France.  In late afternoon, we arrive in Lourdes for dinner before joining the Torchlight Pilgrim???s Procession.  Overnight at our hotel. Sunday, September 10 - Day 7 - LOURDES - This morning, we begin with Mass (concelebrated) at the Grotto. For those who wish, we proceed to the legendary healing waters of the miraculous Lourdes spring.  Afterwards, we take an orientation tour of the Shrine of Lourdes. Our walking tour will take us to Boly Mill, the birthplace of St. Bernadette, the Cachot, the former jail, where she lived during the apparitions and the local parish church. The rest of the day is free for personal devotions to Our Lady of Lourdes.   Again, tonight, following dinner, we have the option of participating in the Torchlight Procession. Monday, September 11 - Day 8 - LOURDES/ MONTSERRAT/BARCELONA - Early this morning we celebrate Mass at one of the chapels.  We depart Lourdes and traverse the Pyrenees southward entering northern Spain.  We journey to Montserrat, home to the dramatically set Benedictine Monastery housing the famed Black Madonna. This Marian Shrine has attracted pilgrims for over 700 years, much as it did Ignatius of Loyola who put his sword before the Black Madonna and exchanged his fancy clothes for those of a beggar. We continue to Barcelona for dinner and overnight. Tuesday, September 12 - DAY 9 - BARCELONA - After breakfast, we celebrate Mass at the Cathedral, then proceed to the Gothic quarter bisected by the famous Ramblas. We enjoy a spectacular view of the pleasure port from the top of the Montjuic hill, pass by the Exchange and visit the Church of the Holy Family or Sagrada Familia, the still uncompleted masterpiece of Antoni Gaudi. Afterwards we enjoy a panoramic tour some of the city???s highlights. Tonight, our Farewell Dinner is at a local restaurant with a Flamenco show. Overnight at our hotel. Wednesday, September 13 - Day 10 - BARCELONA/USA - Today we make our way home with memories of a lifetime memories of a lifetime.
