Alexander is impacted by the setting of North Carolina because he doesn't like it there and wants to go home to Idaho. The plot is impacted by the setting because if Rich was from the north then he might not have the same problems he is facing now. In Ghost Soldier Rich is a ghost from Civil War times so if he was a ghost from our time then he wouldn't be in the same situation he's in now. The most opposite place of North Carolins would probably be somewhere like Alaska or the north pole. Ghost Soldier would be different because Alexander would probably be dealing with something with snow and not a ghost from the Civil War.
