The Landless Workers Movement of Brazil was established in 1984 by underprivileged workers. They challenged the government for land reform, injustice, and social inequality issues that impinged on the achievement of land possession. Members justified that the movement???s aspiration was to increase the effort to produce equal rights to land occupations. The map depicts land occupations by the MST between 1986-1999 in separate regions of Brazil.
