Monday, October 16, 2017 - Day 1 - DEPART - This evening, we depart Detroit, via best connections for our overnight flight to Tel Aviv. We enjoy in-flight movies and dinner and breakfast aloft. Tuesday, October 17 - Day 2 - JERUSALEM - We arrive at Ben Gurion Airport Tel Aviv and transfer to the Bridgettine Sisters Guest House in Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.   Wednesday, October 18 - Day 3 - JERUSALEM ??? This morning we visit the Garden of Gethsemane, and the Church of All Nations where we celebrate Mass.  Our coach then takes us to visit the place of the Ascension and the church of the Pater Noster.  We view Jerusalem from Mt. of Olives and then walk down the hill to Dominus Flevit Chapel, where Jesus wept over Jerusalem.  We proceed to Mt. Zion, stopping at St. Peter in Gallicantu.  We travel a short distance from Jerusalem to Jericho and view the Mt. of Temptation.  Dinner and overnight. Thursday, October 19 - Day 4 ??? JERUSALEM ??? This morning we visit the Church of the Cenacle, the Franciscan Chapel Ad Coenaculum and celebrate Mass.  Then drive to ascend Masada by cable car.  Continuing on, we tour the excavations at Qumran.  We stop at the Dead Sea where we have the opportunity to ???float??? in the Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth.  Dinner and overnight. Friday, October 20 - Day 5 - JERUSALEM - Today we drive to Bethlehem, ???The House of Bread,??? to visit the Church of the Nativity that commemorates the birth of Christ.  We visit the Manger, Crusader's Cloister, and the Grotto of St. Jerome.  We celebrate Mass in the main Church of St. Catherine.    We enjoy a short walk to the Milk Grotto.  According to tradition the Holy Family stopped here during their flight to Egypt.  We then continue on to visit Shepherd???s Fields.  Dinner and overnight. Saturday, October 21 - Day 6 - JERUSALEM ??? Early this morning, we prayerfully walk the Stations of the Cross ending with Mass at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.  We visit Lithostrotos, the Ecce Homo Arch built by the Romans in A.D. 70 and the Convent of the Sisters of Zion, the Church of St. Ann (Mary???s mother) and the Pool of Bethesda.  After free time in the Christian Quarter for lunch and shopping, we tour the Jewish Quarter, making our way to the Western Wall.  We then visit the Church of Dormition.  On to the Shrine of the Book, view the Dead Sea Scrolls and the model city of Jerusalem in Jesus??? time. Dinner and overnight. Sunday, October 22 - Day 7 - JERUSALEM/EMMAUS/TIBERIAS ??? Early this morning, we visit the Holocaust Museum, Yad Vashem. We follow the path of the Disciples on the road to Emmaus, stopping at Ein Karem, continue on to celebrate Mass at Abu Gosh, at the outside altar of Our Lady of The Ark church.  We visit the Crusader???s Church.  On to Tiberias and the Mt. of Beatitudes where we have private prayer time overlooking the Sea of Galilee.   We check into Mount of Beatitudes Retreat House for dinner and overnight.   Monday, October 23 - Day 8 ??? TIBERIAS ??? This morning, we drive to Mt. Tabor, where we celebrate the Mass of Transfiguration. We drive to the village of Cana, the site of Jesus' first miracle.  We drive on to Nazareth visiting Mary's well and walk through the local bazaars.  We visit the Church of the Annunciation, where the Word became Flesh. After stopping at the Jordan River, where we renew our Baptismal promises. Dinner and overnight. Tuesday, October 24 - Day 9 - TIBERIAS ??? By boat, we cross the Sea of Galilee, viewing the surrounding mountains and sites of Jesus??? ministry.  On the opposite side we view the ???Jesus??? boat.  On to Capernaum to see the remains of the village synagogue and the new church built atop St. Peter's house where we celebrate Mass.  On to visit Tabgha and the Franciscan Church of St. Peter's Primacy, where Jesus made His appearance after the resurrection.    Next we see the Benedictine Basilica of the Loaves and Fishes.  Dinner and overnight. Wednesday, October 25 - Day 10 - TIBERIAS /TEL AVIV ??? This morning we drive to Mt. Carmel, where we visit the site of Elijah's confrontation with the priests of Baal, and celebrate Mass.  We then depart for Caesarea along the Mediterranean and visit the Roman and Crusader remains. On to Tel Aviv, where we ride through the bustling waterfront area before stopping for our farewell dinner and on to the airport.   Thursday, October 26 - Day 11 - USA - We arrive home with unforgettable memories to cherish always.  Knowing we have walked in the footsteps of Jesus and the early Christians brings new meaning to our Scripture reading and celebration of Mass.
