Tuesday, October 30- Day 1 -DEPART USA Today we depart Pittsburgh to connect with our overnight flight to Tel Aviv. We enjoy in-flight movies, dinner, and breakfast aloft.  Wednesday, October 31- Day 2 - TEL AVIV/TIBERIAS     We arrive at Ben Gurion Airport this morning where we are greeted by our Unitours tour manager who will remain with us for the duration of our pilgrimage.  We drive north to Caesarea along the Mediterranean and visit the Roman and Crusader remains.  We continue to Mt. Carmel where we celebrate Mass, and visit the site of Elijah's confrontation with the priests of Baal. Continue to our hotel along the shores of the Galilee in Tiberias for dinner and overnight.                                                       Thursday, November 1- Day 3 - TIBERIAS ??? This morning we visit Nazareth and celebrate Mass at the Church of the Annunciation, where the Word became Flesh! We also stop at the Church of St. Joseph and the Mary of Nazareth International Center. We continue to the nearby village of Cana, the site of Jesus' first miracle; our married couples will have the opportunity to renew their wedding vows. This afternoon we drive to Mt. Tabor, the site of the Transfiguration, for personal prayer and reflection. Return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.                                 Friday, November 2 -Day 4 TIBERIAS - Today we take a boat ride across the Sea of Galilee to the seaside village of Kibbutz Ginosar to view the historic archaeological discovery of ???The Jesus Boat.???  On to Capernaum, where we view the remains of the village synagogue and the new church built atop St. Peter's house. We continue to Bethsaida- then drive to the Mount of Beatitudes, to celebrate Mass and enjoy personal meditation in the beautiful gardens. We will visit Tabgha and the Franciscan Church of St. Peter's Primacy, where Jesus made His appearance after the resurrection.  Next, we see the Benedictine Basilica of the Loaves and Fishes.  We conclude our day with a visit to the complex at Magdala, where we will see the excavations of the first synagogue. Return to our hotel for dinner and overnight. Saturday, November 3- - Day 5 -JERUSALEM - This morning we drive south through the Jordan Valley stopping at the Jordan River where we will symbolically renew our baptisimal promises and celebrate an outdoor Mass. We visit Jericho and view the Mount of Temptation then we drive a short way along the exciting Wadi Qelt to an overlook up at St. George's Monastery. We continue in the Judean wilderness visiting Masada (Hebrew for fortress). It is a place of gaunt and majestic beauty that has become one of the Jewish people's greatest symbols as the place where the last stronghold against Roman invasion stood. More than two thousand years have passed since the fall of the Masada fortress yet the regional climate and its remoteness have helped to preserve the remains of its extraordinary story.  Time permitting, we will stop briefly at the Dead Sea.  Finally, we make our thrilling entry into Jerusalem before arriving at our hotel for dinner and overnight.  Sunday, November 4- -Day 6 - JERUSALEM - Today we visit the place of the Ascension and pass by the Church of the Pater Noster. We view the beautiful City of Jerusalem from the Mt. of Olives.  We will walk down the hill to Dominus Flevit Chapel, where Jesus wept over Jerusalem and on to the Garden of Gethsemane, celebrating Mass at the Church of All Nations. Following lunch, onto Ein Karem, where John the Baptist was born and Mary visited her cousin Elizabeth to utter the words of the Magnificat. We will spend time contemplating the Magnificat. Our afternoon will end with a visit to Yad Vashem- the Jewish Holocaust museum. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight                                                                                                             Monday, November 5 ???Day 7-JERUSALEM - We drive to Bethlehem this morning, stopping first at Shepherds??? Fields and then continuing to the Church of the Nativity that commemorates the birth of Our Lord.  We visit the Manger, Crusader's Cloister, and the Grotto of St. Jerome, where we celebrate the Christmas Mass.  We will shop at some local Palestinian Christian shops before stopping for lunch on our own, at the Beduoin Tent restaurant. We final stop today is the famous Milk Grotto before returning to Jerusalem. Dinner and overnight at our hotel.  Tuesday, November 6- Day 8 - JERUSALEM ??? We rise very early today and walk the Stations of the Cross- the Via Dolorosa arriving at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher for Mass. Then we continue to the Church of St. Ann (Mary???s mother) and the Pool of Bethesda.  We visit Pilate???s Judgment Hall, the Chapel of Flagellation, Lithostrotos, Arch of Ecce Homo and the Convent of the Sisters of Zion. Before returning to the hotel, we drive along the Kidron Valley stopping at St. Peter in Gallicantu (The Cock Crows), where Jesus was held in the house of the High Priest Caiaphas. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight.  Wednesday, November 7 -Day 9 JERUSALEM/TEL AVIV/AIRPORT ??? Today we go to Mt. Zion to visit the Church of Dormition and pray in the Upper Room.  We enter the Old City through Zion Gate making our way to the Western (Wailing) Wall.  We also see the Cardo and the remains of Hezekiah's wall. We then travel to Abu Gosh, one of the traditional sites of Emmaus, where Jesus appeared on the road on the first Easter Sunday.  We celebrate our closing Holy Land Mass here.  We continue to Jaffa, the city of Jonah, where Peter had his rooftop experience, where we ride through the quaintly restored area.  We will enjoy a celebratory farewell dinner nearby before we head to Ben Gurion Airport for our overnight flight home. Thursday, November 8 ??? Day 10 - USA - We arrive home today with unforgettable memories to cherish always. Knowing we have walked in the footsteps of Jesus and the early Christians bring new meaning to our Scripture reading and celebration of Mass.
