The trade routes in the fifth century CE that connected different regions in Asia, Southern Europe, and East Africa included travel by land and sea, and were known as the Silk Roads because silk was transported by way of them. China, India, Rome, the Kingdom of Aksum, Arabia, and Persia were all involved in the network, and as a result of the constant interaction and exchange of foreign goods, cultural diffusion occurred.
