DAY 1 ??? DULLES/PITTSBURGH ??? PARIS/LOURDES - Today our pilgrimage begins as we journey from our hometowns, to connect with our overnight flight via Paris to Lourdes.  We enjoy in-flight movies, dinner and breakfast aloft. DAY 2 ??? LOURDES - We arrive at an airport close to Lourdes and are greeted by our full-time tour manager who will remain with us for the duration of our pilgrimage. We will journey into Lourdes, and enjoy a short walking orientation tour of the little town and then celebrate Mass at the outdoor grotto. Free time for lunch and to acclimate to the new time zone. This evening we have the option of joining the Torchlight Marian Procession.  Dinner and overnight Lourdes.  DAY 3 - LOURDES ??? Following breakfast, today is spent in devotion to Our Lady of Lourdes. We celebrate Mass at the Grotto, visit the Shrine and have an extensive walking tour of Lourdes. We visit Boly Mill, where St. Bernadette was born, the Cachot, formerly used as a jail, where she lived during the apparitions, and the parish church. This afternoon is free for private devotions, the Eucharistic Procession, the Blessing of the Sick or the legendary, healing waters of the miraculous Lourdes spring. In the evening, we once again join the Rosary and candlelight procession. Dinner and overnight Lourdes. DAY 4 ??? LOURDES - Today after breakfast we will walk to the Grotto and celebrate Mass. We will then visit the Pyrenees National Park and the charming villages of Catuterets and Gavarnie- a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will spend the afternoon among the Pyrenees mountains, and see waterfalls around the Pont d???Espagne- the Bridge of Spain. We will be at the border between France and Spain and will be humbled by the enormity of the surrounding Pyrannees.  Dinner and overnight Lourdes.  DAY 5 ??? LOURDES/ASSISI - This morning we will fly from Lourdes to Rome, Italy. Upon arrival, we will journey to Umbria, to the hilltop village of Assisi, the home of Saint Francis. Our first stop is in the lower town for a visit to the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels, and the Portiuncula, Francis' Church of the Little Portion. We continue to the upper village for dinner and overnight at our hotel in Assisi. Day 6 ??? ASSISI - Following breakfast, we joyfully begin our day at the Basilica of St. Francesco with Mass. After our visit of the Basilica and the tomb of St. Francis, we begin our walking tour of the village, including a visit to the Church of St. Clare to view the crucifix that spoke to St. Francis. We pass by the famous Temple of Minerva in the Piazza del Comune. This afternoon, we can enjoy this picturesque hillside village on our own. Dinner and overnight at our hotel. DAY 7 ??? ASSISI - Today, enjoy a free day in Assisi or take an optional excursion to Florence. We drive to Florence and visit the Academia Gallery, where we will view Michelangelo???s spectacular ???David???. We continue to the Duomo, in the heart of the city, where we admire the cupola by Brunelleschi, completed in 1240, and its campanile by Giotto.  Outside we view the Baptistery with its incomparable bronze doors by Ghiberti. Afterwards, we set out to the Piazza della Signoria, dominated by the Palazzo Vecchio and its embattlement crowned tower. Across from the Palace, we visit the Loggia dei Lanzi with the statues of Perseus by Cellini, Giambologna's the ???Rape of the Sabines??? and ???Hercules.??? Following free time for lunch, shopping and adventure on the Ponte Vecchio, we visit the Basilica of Santa Croce to celebrate Mass. Among the most famous interred here, lies Galileo, Rossini, Michelangelo and Macchiaveli. We conclude our day in Florence, with a drive to the ???Piazzale Michelangelo??? for a panoramic view of this spectacular city. Dinner is on your own tonight. Overnight Assisi.  DAY 8 ??? ASSISI/ROME - Today, we depart Assisi and travel south to Rome where we tour her sites, including the Basilica of St. Mary Major, where we celebrate Mass. We continue to St. Peter in Chains to view Michelangelo's possibly most celebrated sculpture, the "Moses."  Afterwards, we see the nearby Roman Forum passing the Arch of Constantine, the Coliseum, and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.  Dinner and overnight at hotel in Rome DAY 9 - ROME - This morning we set out early, and make our way to St. Peter's for an audience with Pope Francis if he is in residence. This afternoon we will visit the Basilica St. Paul Outside the Walls, founded by the Roman Emperor Constantine I, over the burial place of St. Paul. We will then enjoy some free time to further explore this fascinating city.  Tonight, we celebrate our pilgrimage with a farewell dinner in a local restaurant in the cobbled streets of Trastevere. We stop at the Trevi fountain to bid Arrivederci to Roma.  Overnight at our hotel. DAY 10 ??? ROME - We discover the treasures of Vatican City this morning, as we visit the incredible Vatican Museum. We marvel at Michelangelo's recently restored frescoes in the Sistine Chapel and the wonders of St. Peter???s Basilica. This afternoon, we continue our tour with a visit to the Holy Stairs and Basilica of St. John Lateran. We will also stop at the Basilica of the Holy Cross of Jerusalem, to view the  relics of the Passion of Jesus Christ,  brought to Rome from the Holy Land by Empress St. Helena, mother of Roman Emperor Constantine I. Our last stop today will be at St. Paul Outside the Walls. We conclude our day at one of the Catacombs, burial place of early Christians.  We celebrate Mass here and view the 2nd and 3rd century fresco paintings. We return to our hotel for dinner and overnight. Day 11 ??? ROME/USA - Arrivederchi Roma! Today we will journey back to the USA. We arrive in the late afternoon, with memories of a lifetime from our incredible pilgrimage!
