Map Thailand - Country Information
Map of Thailand - The map of the Kingdom of Thailand is divided into 76 provinces, which are gathered into 5 provincial groups, with the capital city of Bangkok considered a special administrative area with provincial status. Geographically, the map of Thailand represents several distinct geographical regions, which roughly correspond to the provincial groups. The Thai highlands are part of the mountainous northern region of the map of Thailand, with the Khorat Plateau in the northeast, bordered by the Mekong River in the east. The centre of the map of Thailand is dominated by the relatively flat Chao Phraya River valley, which runs into the Gulf of Thailand. In the south, the Kra Isthmus is a narrow piece of land which widens into the Malay Peninsula, and the climate there is always hot and humid. Most of the rest of the climate is tropical, and is another country with a characteristic monsoon cycle.
