Map of South Korea - The map of South Korea, or the Republic of Korea depicts a country that occupies the southern part of the Korean Peninsula. To the north, the map of South Korea is bordered by North Korea, while across the Yellow Sea to the west is China, and across the Sea of Japan to the east is Japan. The map of South Korea is divided into 17 administrative regions, is comprised of mostly mountainous terrain, and the climate is temperate to subtropical humid. There are 4 general geographic regions that make up the map of South Korea. In the east, the terrain is mostly mountainous with narrow coastal plains. The west of the map of South Korea is mostly rolling hills, river basins, and broad coastal plains, while the southwestern region is mostly mountains and valleys, and the southeast region is dominated by the Nakdong River Basin. Most of the land area is quite mountainous, and not suitable for growing crops; however, about 30% of the land area is lowlands, with some arable land.
