Map Mexico - Country Information
Map of Mexico - The United Mexican States is the southernmost country in North America. The map of Mexico is bordered in the north by the U.S.A., on the south and west by the Pacific Ocean, on the southeast by Guatemala, Belize, and the Caribbean Sea, and on the east by the Gulf of Mexico. The map of Mexico depicts political divisions of 31 states, and 1 Federal District, the capital city of Mexico City. Mexico is the most populous Spanish-speaking nation in the world, and it has a rich history and a booming tourism industry. The map of Mexico has two major mountain ranges running on a north-south delineation that are called the Sierra Madre Oriental, and Sierra Madre Occidental, and which are extensions of the Rocky Mountain Range which runs through Canada and the United States. Also, around the centre of the country is an east to west mountain range called the Trans-Mexican Volcanic Belt, also known as the Sierra Nevada. The major urban centres are located between these mountain ranges in valleys with elevations that give them a temperate climate with cool nights.
